We take you to a seldom visited, but very beautiful and intact part of Italy, where old ways of living still thrive nestled in an-astonishing landscape far away from the madding crowds of Florence, Rome or Venice.

We visit it on horseback, the old way of traveling  in this country where horses, mules, sheep and  cows graze the high pastures and old villages nestle the lower valleys, or by e bike, a new way to travel which enables nearly everyone to enjoy what was once the preserve of the hardy ones.

The Apennine  preserve some intact ecosystems which have survived human intervention. In here are some of the best forests and montane grasslands of the whole continent now protected by national parks, with them a high diversity of flora and fauna. These mountains are in fact one of the largest  refuge of big European predators such as the Italian wolf and the Marsican Brown Bear, now extinct in other countries of Central Europe.
